DESEKTA – Partnership Düsseldorf–Sekondi-Takoradi e.V. exists to strengthen the official city partnership between Düsseldorf in Germany and Sekondi-Takoradi in Ghana through concrete projects, institutional cooperation and people-to-people exchange.

We believe that strong international partnerships are not built through one-way support, but through mutual respect, shared responsibility and practical collaboration.

Who We Are

DESEKTA is a registered non-profit association based in Germany. We bring together municipalities, civil society organisations, educational institutions, businesses, diaspora communities, cultural actors and committed citizens from both cities.

Our work is guided by one central idea: the partnership between Düsseldorf and Sekondi-Takoradi should create real opportunities for people in both cities.

Through joint projects, dialogue and exchange, we support sustainable development, strengthen local institutions and create platforms for cooperation between Germany and Ghana.

The partnership between Düsseldorf and Sekondi-Takoradi is more than a symbolic relationship. It is a practical opportunity to connect two cities, two regions and two communities through shared learning and shared action.

DESEKTA was created to help translate this partnership into visible results. We identify opportunities, bring partners together, support project development and help mobilise the resources needed to implement sustainable initiatives.
